This year at Local 4002’s annual holiday party, the recreation committee has decided to donate all proceeds from our raffle draw tickets to the Spence Neighbourhood Association.
The Spence Neighbourhood Association Inc. (SNA) is a non-profit organization that offers free community programming to residents of the Spence Neighbourhood.

The Spence Neighbourhood is a vibrant community located within a 25-block area of Winnipeg’s Inner City, bordered by Balmoral Street to the east, Agnes Street to the west, Portage Avenue to the south, and Notre Dame Avenue to the north.

Unifor Locals 100 and Council 4000, together with CN Rail, donated $25,000 each to the North Point Douglas Women’s Centre through Unifor’s Social Justice Fund.

The funding will support access to traditional Indigenous ceremony and culture, provide essentials like baby formula, diapers, and emergency food kits for families, and help sustain Winnipeg’s annual Austin Street Festival.

Mama Bear Clan is a community safety initiative that was created by NPDWC's Women's Warrior Circle. In 2016 a group of mothers, grandmothers, sisters and aunts decided that safety is something that is fostered through relationship: within ourselves, our home, and in the community.  Sometimes all people need to feel safe is knowing someone cares about them.
